STAINLESS STEEL 321    HEXAGONAL BAR

Stainless Steel 321 hexagonal bars Stainless steel 321 hexagonal bars are the preferred grade for applications requiring high strength, resistance to scaling, and phase stability, as well as resistance to aqueous corrosion after aqueous corrosion. While Stainless Steel 321H Hex Bars are still used for extended service in the 800°F to 1500°F (427°C to 816°C) temperature range, Stainless Steel 304L Hex Bars have largely replaced this stabilised grade in applications requiring only welding or brief heating (e.g., for a welding torch).

DESCRIPTION

Superior creep and stress rupture properties are demonstrated by SS 321 Hex Bars in comparison with Stainless Steel 304 Hex Bars and, more specifically, Stainless Steel 304L Hex Bars, which may be considered for use in environments prone to sensitization and intergranular corrosion. Using an air coolant in SS 321H Hex Bars operating at temperatures between 1500°F and 1650°F will provide the best resistance to intergranular corrosion as well as polythionic acid stress corrosion cracking. .

Alloy 321 Hex Bar is frequently used in aircraft components, such as exhaust systems, in which working temperature exceed 800°F. Alloy 321H Hex Bars have an exceptional resistance to oxidation and corrosion and a high creep strength. The primary characteristic of 321 Stainless SS Hex Bars is the addition of titanium, that also stabilises the material and imparts resistance to carbide precipitation and oxidation.
