Pitting and crevice corrosion are prevented by the use of Grade 304 Hex Bars. NITRIC ACID, NITRATES, and oxidising salts are just a few of the oxidising agents that Type 304 Hex Bars can withstand. Corrosion-resistant AISI 304 Metric Hex Bars are manufactured to withstand corrosion in both oxidising and reducing environments.

At the time of welding, titanium improves the resistance of SUS 304 Hex Bars to sensitization. In terms of corrosion resistance, 304 stainless steel hex rods outperforms other stainless steels in the presence of reducing and oxidising acids, stress corrosion cracking, and localised corrosion attacks such as pitting and crevice corrosion. While Alloy 304 Hex Bars are not completely resistant to stress-corrosion cracking in boiling magnesium chloride, they exhibit excellent resistance in neutral chloride media.
